Wolfgang's Steakhouse Waikiki: Which Floor, Reservations, and What Happy Hour Really Costs (2026)

Wolfgang's Steakhouse Waikiki is on Level 3 of Building C at Royal Hawaiian Center. Happy hour runs 3 to 6 pm daily. Here are the posted prices and how we would order.

Wolfgang’s Steakhouse in Waikiki is on Level 3 of Building C at Royal Hawaiian Center, it opens at 11 am, and its happy hour runs 3 to 6 pm every day. We used to go to that happy hour on nearly every trip. We have not been in the last few years, for a reason that is entirely about price, so before writing this we reread the restaurant’s own site and menus in October 2026 instead of trusting our memory. The short version: the posted happy hour deal is on drinks, not on steak.

The basics, from the official site

WhereRoyal Hawaiian Center, 2301 Kalakaua Ave., Building C, Level 3
Hours11:00 am – 10:00 pm daily (Friday and Saturday until 10:30 pm)
Happy hour3:00 – 6:00 pm daily
W Lanai (open-air terrace)3:00 – 10:00 pm daily
Phone808-922-3600
Reservations”Online Reservation” on the official page (it opens OpenTable), or by phone

All of that is from the Wolfgang’s Steakhouse Waikiki page, checked October 2026. Hours change, so look again before you go.

Which floor: Level 3, Building C

Royal Hawaiian Center has three buildings on Kalakaua Avenue, labeled A, B, and C. The restaurant’s page says Building C, Level 3, and the Center’s own directory listing agrees, down to the unit number: C-306. The Center says there are digital directories at every major entrance, which is the easiest way to find the right escalator.

Two small mismatches we ran into, so you do not have to wonder:

  • The footer of the restaurant’s set menu PDF still prints “BLDG B, LEVEL 3.” The restaurant’s page and the Center’s directory both say Building C, so go with C.
  • The Center’s directory listing shows the hours as 7:00 am to 10:00 pm daily. The restaurant’s own page says 11:00 am. We would go by the restaurant.

It is a big room. The official page lists 500 seats and six private dining rooms that hold up to 240 guests between them.

We do not rent a car, so for us this has always been a walk down Kalakaua. If you drive: the Center’s visitor page lists the garage at $4.00 per 30 minutes, and with a $25 purchase and validation the first hour is free, the second and third are $3.00 each, and it is $8.00 an hour after that. The same page says restaurants hand out the validation directly, and that rates can change without notice.

Reservations

The “Online Reservation” button on the official page goes to OpenTable. The phone number is 808-922-3600. For dinner, we would book.

Happy hour is the part to ask about. The official page gives the hours and nothing else: it does not say whether happy hour pricing applies at the bar, at tables, or only on the terrace, and it does not say whether you can reserve a seat for it. When we were regulars we sat in the bar area, but that was years ago and we would not plan a 2026 afternoon around it without asking. One phone call settles it.

What happy hour actually discounts

The only happy hour prices the restaurant publishes are on the W Lanai menu, the menu for its open-air terrace. One line, exactly this much:

  • Draft beer from $6 (Budweiser / Bud Light)
  • Wine from $8 (red, white, or sparkling)

That is the whole printed deal. For comparison, the same menu’s regular list has Budweiser at $7, Bikini Blonde at $8, white wine at $11 a glass, and red at $14. The menu shows no happy hour price for food.

So the food next to those drinks is regular price, as of the menu posted in October 2026:

On the W Lanai menuPrice
Cheeseburger Sliders$17
The “W” Loco Moco$17
USDA Prime Beef & Fish Tacos$17
Fried Calamari$18
USDA Prime Tenderloin Kebabs$19
Taste of New York (12 oz bone-in dry-aged New York sirloin, mashed potatoes and creamed spinach, New York-style cheesecake)$86
Surf & Turf$98

The per-person math

Two people, the way we would do it at 3 pm: one order of sliders and one loco moco to share ($17 + $17), and two draft beers each at the “from $6” price (4 × $6 = $24). That is $58, or $29 a person, before tax and tip, and only if the beer you want is the one at $6. We usually drink IPAs, and the menu prints a happy hour price for Budweiser and Bud Light only, so our real number would likely be higher.

The steak version: one Taste of New York ($86) split between two, plus one glass of wine each at “from $8” ($16), is $102, or $51 a person, before tax and tip.

Neither of those is a bargain steak. They are a way to sit at Wolfgang’s in daylight for less than a dinner check.

What dinner costs, for scale

From the dinner menu, the lunch menu (which carries an “11.2025” print date), and the set menu, all as posted in October 2026:

ItemPriceMenu
Loco Moco$23Lunch
Classic Burger$24Lunch
Taste of New York$86Lunch
N.Y. Sirloin Steak$112Dinner
Filet Mignon$132Dinner
Rib Eye Steak$138Dinner
Steak for Two$214Dinner
Mashed potatoes / spinach (each)$15Dinner
Set menu A (12 oz bone-in New York sirloin)$125 per personSet
Set menu C (porterhouse)$160 per person, two-person minimumSet
Set menu B (porterhouse plus seafood tower)$175 per person, two-person minimumSet

The set menus state that tax and tip are not included.

This is why the Taste of New York is the line people ask about. On the dinner menu, a sirloin with mashed potatoes and spinach ordered separately is $112 + $15 + $15 = $142. The $86 course puts a 12 oz bone-in sirloin, both sides, and cheesecake on one check. The dinner menu does not print a weight for its sirloin, so we are not claiming the two steaks are identical. And since the course is on the W Lanai menu, which runs 3 to 10 pm, it is not a lunch-only deal.

Why we stopped going, and what would bring us back

The Taste of New York is the reason we went so often. Bone-in sirloin on a plate hot enough to keep sizzling at the table, a lot of butter, that dry-aged smell. When we started going it was roughly $40, as we remember it. It crept up a little each year, and the current menu says $86. We have no complaint about the steak. It just stopped being the thing we could order without thinking.

The small plates went the same way. Our 2017 photos show the happy hour sliders and the mini loco moco at $7 each.

And then there was the wine. A glass at happy hour was about $8 back then too, which is fair. But at some point one of us said that for a couple of dollars more, Longs sells a whole bottle for $10. We open bottles like that in the room all the time. Once you have had that thought at a bar, it is hard to un-have it.

What has not changed is the clock. Our drinking day starts around 3 or 4 pm, and a 3 pm happy hour a walk from the room fits it exactly. We do not go out at night, so “good place, open in daylight” still counts for a lot. If Wolfgang’s ever put a steak-only plate at around $40 on the happy hour list, no sides, no cheesecake, we would start going again, one glass of wine each.

Dress code and paying

The official page does not state a dress code. We are not going to invent one. If it matters for your evening, ask when you book.

It is table service, so the check comes to the table and we tip the standard amount.

Before you plan around this

  • Hours, happy hour window, and phone number: official site, checked October 2026.
  • Prices: the restaurant’s posted PDF menus, checked October 2026. The lunch menu is dated November 2025, so the paper menu in your hand may be newer.
  • Not published anywhere we could find on the official site: happy hour seating rules in the main restaurant, any happy hour food pricing, and a dress code.
  • Our own visits are from years back. The 2017 prices are there to show the drift, not to tell you what you will pay.

If steakhouse happy hours are your thing, we have also written up Ruth’s Chris at Waikiki Beach Walk, Hy’s Steak House, and Morton’s at Ala Moana.
