The one number worth knowing at Splash Bar is $37: that is what “Da Sheet Pan” costs on the regular menu, and the menu itself says the wings, nachos and pork rinds on it come in sample portions. During happy hour, the restaurant’s happy hour pages list the same platter at $30, and every draft beer is $2 off. We have not been to Splash Bar yet. We are writing this because its happy hour starts at 2:30 pm on most of its own site, which is about when our drinking afternoon starts anyway, and because the site does not agree with itself on that time.
Where it is and why it came up
Splash Bar is the outdoor, poolside bar and restaurant at the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani, 120 Kaiulani Avenue, just off Kalakaua in the middle of Waikiki. It is open from breakfast through 10 pm, and the official site says it has won Honolulu Magazine’s Hale Aina Gold for Best Bar Food four years running (2023 to 2026), plus the 2026 Gold for Best Cocktail Program.
It came up again on September 30, 2026, when the Honolulu Star-Advertiser featured it in a column about places to go with friends. According to the Star-Advertiser, the bar was newly renovated and has “stepped up its menu,” Da Sheet Pan is “a must-order for sharing,” and on select Fridays chef Blake Kajiwara runs Throwback Alley food specials. The column gives no Splash Bar prices. Every price below comes from the restaurant’s own pages.
The happy hour window: two clock times on one site
Here is what the official site showed when we checked on October 18, 2026:
| Where on the site | Happy hour |
|---|---|
| Home page hours block, footer on every page | 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm daily |
| Japanese-language happy hour and menu pages | 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm daily |
| The pop-up that opens from the Reserve button | 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm daily |
Most of the site says 2:30 to 4:30. One pop-up says 3 to 5. We cannot tell which is current, so if you are timing a walk over for happy hour, call first: (808) 931-8653. If both are partly right, 3:00 to 4:30 is inside either version.
What happy hour actually includes
The English site does not have a happy hour menu. Its address for one (/specials) just opens the home page. The happy hour menu is on the Japanese-language version of the site, and it exists there twice, in two different versions. Both versions agree on three things:
- Smash slider tacos: $11
- Da Sheet Pan sampler platter: $30
- All draft beers: $2 off
After that they split. The menu page’s happy hour tab adds kamaboko dip ($7), Thai chicken satay ($8), garlic Parmesan fries ($7), chicken and shrimp lumpia ($10), four $12 cocktails, and $2 off glass wine and well liquor as well as drafts. The separate happy hour page instead lists Buffalo strips ($10), truffle fries ($7), spinach artichoke dip ($7) and chili garlic edamame ($7), with the $2 discount on drafts only. We would plan around the three items the two pages share and treat the rest as a pleasant surprise.
Regular prices, from the English menu
These are from the official beverage and lunch and dinner menus, checked October 18, 2026. The menu says items are subject to change, and the wine section says the current list “will be provided by your server.”
| Item | Regular price |
|---|---|
| Draft beer (Longboard, Big Wave, Gold Cliff IPA, Kona Seasonal, Mich Ultra) | $9 |
| Canned beer (Budweiser, Bud Light, Heineken, Modelo and others) | $9 |
| Glass of wine | $11 - $13 |
| Matua Sauvignon Blanc (New Zealand) | $12 glass / $48 bottle |
| Da Sheet Pan (sample portions of garlic furikake wings, kalua pork nachos, salt and vinegar chicharron) | $37 |
| Garlic furikake chicken wings | $19 |
| Kalua pork nachos | $22 |
| Chili garlic edamame | $11 |
| Kaiulani wagyu cheeseburger, with fries | $28 |
It is tempting to say the platter is a deal because wings ($19) plus nachos ($22) come to $41 before you even count the pork rinds. But the menu says “sample portions,” so the platter is smaller servings of three things, not the two full plates plus a bonus. If you want a real plate of wings, order the wings. If you want to pick at three salty things with a beer, that is what the pan is for.
What it costs for two at 2:30
The order we would place, using the numbers above:
| Happy hour | Regular | |
|---|---|---|
| Two Kona drafts | $7 + $7 = $14 | $9 + $9 = $18 |
| Da Sheet Pan | $30 | $37 |
| Total before tax and tip | $44 | $55 |
The menu adds 4.712% state tax to every item, and tipping is the norm at table service.
What we would do
We are beer and wine people who start around 2 pm and skip cocktails, ice and anything sweet, so the award-winning cocktail list is something we would read, not order. The draft list is the part that caught us. Big Wave is the beer we keep in the suite fridge for the room, and Splash Bar pours it on draft. The other surprise was the wine list. The Sauvignon Blanc is Matua, the same New Zealand label we usually buy at the grocery store and open back at the suite. Paying $12 a glass for it at a pool is a different deal, but it is nice to know the Sauvignon Blanc on the list is one we already like.
So the plan, if we go: a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday at 2:30. The official live entertainment schedule has a DJ from 1:30 to 4:30 pm Friday through Sunday, which covers the whole happy hour, and a solo performer from 3 to 6 pm on Thursday. Monday to Wednesday, the music starts at 6 pm. That leaves a quiet early afternoon: two Big Waves, the $30 pan between us, out by 4:30 with the rest of the evening’s wine waiting in the suite.
What we would not do is turn this into dinner. It is a happy hour stop on a walk, not a destination. If you like music with your beer, the weekend DJ afternoon is exactly the reverse of our plan, and probably a lot of fun.
Things to know before you walk over
- No cash. The menus say major credit cards and hotel room charges only.
- Large parties pay a service charge. The beverage and breakfast menus say 20% for parties of 6 or more, or 5 or more who want split checks. The lunch and dinner menu says 20% for all parties of 5 or more. If you are a group, assume the stricter version.
- Parking: the official site says 4 hours on-site with a minimum $25 food and beverage purchase.
- Takeout orders are available at the bar.
- October only: the site says every Princess Mai Tai and Kaiulani wagyu cheeseburger sold in October helps support Hawaii nonprofits chosen by The Royal Hawaiian for its 2027 centennial.
- Cabana packages: the menu lists an “Ainahau Package” at $75, a bucket of five Kona Brewing beers plus Da Sheet Pan, delivered to a poolside cabana. If each beer in the bucket cost the same $9 as a draft (our guess; the menu does not list bottle prices), five beers plus the $37 pan would be $82. The menu does not say what the cabana itself costs, so we cannot tell you whether that adds up.
Before you plan around this
Every price and time here was checked on the official site on October 18, 2026. The happy hour items come from the Japanese-language pages only, and those two pages disagree with each other. The happy hour window disagrees between the hours block and the reservation pop-up. We have not eaten or had a drink at Splash Bar, so nothing here is first-hand. Throwback Alley comes from the Star-Advertiser, which says only “select Fridays”; the column sends readers to the restaurant’s Instagram (@splashbarwaikiki) for more. Call (808) 931-8653 or check splashbarwaikiki.com before you go.
If you are collecting Waikiki happy hours, our notes on Yard House Waikiki cover a very different deal: there, the food is half off and the beer is not.
