The two-session happy hour you may have seen on blogs and deal sites — small pizzas from $8, draft beer at $5 — matches what we enjoyed there in 2019, and we have found no current listing for it.

One practical implication: the old happy hour’s afternoon session existed because the restaurant opened for lunch. It now opens in the late afternoon only, so the schedule that made that deal possible is gone too.

The two Waikiki locations are both walkable from most hotels; the Kahala one is a drive.
What the happy hour was like (our 2019 record)
We keep this section because it explains why people still search for it. On our visit, the happy hour ran in the bar area only — a six-seat counter plus a few high-top tables — and the list looked like this:

- Wine and cocktails — $6
- Small pizzas — formaggi $8, funghi $9, pepperoni $9
- Calamari fritti — $10, plus a charcuterie plate and two small salads
The pizzas were small, Naples-style, thin but chewy, and genuinely good — good enough that we ordered a second one instead of a salad, with zero regret. Two drinks each, two pizzas, and the calamari came to $57.59 including tax for the two of us.
The real luxury was not the price. It was sitting down at a highly rated Waikiki Italian restaurant with no reservation and no line, while the dining room around us required both.
Is it still worth going without a happy hour?
We think so, with expectations set correctly. This is a well-regarded Italian kitchen — house-made pastas, proper pizzas, produce from local farms — and the bar seats still exist. A no-reservation evening of one pizza, one pasta, and a couple of glasses of wine is exactly the kind of low-effort dinner we go to Hawaii for. It is simply full price now, so treat it as a restaurant decision, not a deal decision.
